I agree with Jedi. I play directly into a tube amp (fender deville 410) with an stock guitar (ibanez s470gxqm my dad gave me), i turn the bass all the way down and the high and mid all the way up, and perhaps a slight reverb. I get a sound kind of like Vic from playin dead on the middle pickup, and a bertha/saint steven sound on my bridge pickup. The amp also has a foot switch i mess around with makes it sound a bit dirtier... I dont really know much about all the tone stuff, but im sticking with my guitar straight into my amp, and let my fingers be responsible for the jerryness. I am however gonna try to get some super 2's or something.

ill post a sound byte if u'd like. Hope this helps.

Great start on those tunes. I listened to some of that. What is your rig for this recording? Its sounds almost acoustic. How did you record? thanks!

Thanks Mod! I can only play three quarters of those all the way through... Thanks for listening though man thats real cool!

Iv got an ibanez s470 and a fender deville 410 with a boss loop pedal. i downloaded a program called recordpad from cnet for free, recorded it with my laptop (fujitsu t5010) and a wav to mp3 converter from the same site and then googled sound file hosting sites....

You know what, everyone here should do the same honestly. Id love to hear everyone elses interpretations of the same things.

I wanna hear YOUR sound dudes.

I would like to post some sound files, I just need to get some kind of recording ability set up. I can record analog tracks and video but I dont have a converter to digital. I was thinking of getting one that I used to use called guitar tracks or something. Maybe there is a free download for digital mixes. I thought you were using a looper or something. Keep it up!

good stuff Adam - we'll have to find some time after the Further shows to get together. Have fun - Asheville was great!

Adam, there is another section in the forum where people post tunes and info about their gigs...often accompanied with recordings and videos...but a lot of people do post their stuff here...this is a good group to discuss anything with. A lot of folks also post on archive.org. You'll find that most are very accomplished players. Playin' Dead is truly a standout but there are lots of contributors here that are amazing players and have high quality bands together. Don't let that discourage you...keep posting your stuff...I took a good long listen the other day and liked what I heard!
