Santa Cruz is indeed one of the "sweetest" places on the planet. I lived on the beach by a rock with about 40 other heads after the Ventura shows ended the summer 85 tour we stayed there until the Borreal Ridge show started the late summer early fall Southwest tour.
Some of the best months of my life. People either Love or Hate GD 1985. Personally I loved it. Inventive setlists, very energetic jams, and some fantastic venues. The 85 haters harp on Jerry's voice which was admittedly very uneven that year.(especially late spring tour, Providence>Philly.
Having missed only the BCT run that whole year, my opinion is obviously skewed.
Anyway, Santa Cruz gets a huge thumbs up.
