Has anyone else read the new Thomas Pynchon book? It is a break from his books that are hard to start and too long to finish.. it's only about 250 pages full of noir PI, hippy paranioa, rousting flatfoot cops, and surfers and their babes..
if anyone is out looking for a good read full of situational quips that are so funny you have to read them to others, this is a great book.

Doc could relate to this -- it was like the beach {where he lives} where you live in a climate of unquestioning hippie belief, pretending to trust everybody while always expecting to be sold out - but he didn't have to enjoy that either, especially. p 225
