Lot of agreement from me as well, lots of good stuff there. You did have a few key issues, mostly in the first minute, nothing dramatic after that. Your tone was great pretty much throughout IMO, right around 2 mins, you got up into your nose just for like 2 or 3 words and then got it right back down so you are sensitive to that and reacting really well.
Couple of suggestions, with the forthright admission that I would be darn surprised if I could do as well as what you already posted, and I wish I had as good voice tone as you do: You seem to hurry through the "eeeEEEOOOoooo" parts. Not seeing the music and not being familiar with the song, I am not sure it is realistic, but if you could lengthen these by a half or maybe even a whole beat I think it would make the song sound more laid-back and somber as I believe it was intended. I also think you would do better to "move a little more air", which is kind of hard to describe in a post, but I don't mean sing louder, just project more.
A shot at a better description: I don't think I understood how an acoustic guitar worked until a few years ago, in that I thought most or all of the sound was coming out of the "sound hole". I now realize that is not true, a lot of the good tone that you are hearing is coming from the vibration of the top of the guitar, that has been induced to it through the bridge by the vibration of the strings. This is similar to what I was taught to "project my voice" for public speaking. The idea was to think about "pushing your voice down", meaning into your chest, as opposed to pushing it up into your nose. I don't think I can literally do this, but thinking about getting my chest vibrating, like the top of a guitar, as opposed to my sinus, definitely causes me to project more and makes me sound less nasally. As I said, it sounds to me like you have the "in the nose" problem tackled, so this is just concept so far. I think "moving more air" (those are my words btw) is just my description of loosening the constriction in the throat, which for me at least seems to facilitate the sound coming from lower down rather than in the nose (again, not a problem you have), as well as making pitch control easier. Notice that I said it sounds to me like you need to move a LITTLE more air.
I guarantee the above to be worth every penny you paid for it.
Mama Mama many worlds I've come since I first left home.
