Reading Wikipedia's article for Robert Hunter today http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Hun ... yricist%29 it suggested Help>Franklins and Terrapin as his high point. I thought they were two great picks. Terrapin is of course a dead ringer, and the other too, while not immediatley in my mind, are certainly good choices.
I would suggest the following as some of Hunter's lyrical best:
(order unimportant)
Brokedown Palace
Stella Blue
Terrapin Station (inspiration serving him quite brightly)
Althea
Friend of the Devil
Ramble On Rose
Help On the Way
Franklin's Tower
Comes a Time
Jack Straw
Eyes of the World
Loser
Uncle John's Band
and lets do Barlow too while we're at it:
Looks Like Rain
Black Throated Wind
Sugar Magnolia
Estimated Prophet
What do you think?
