What's your favorite show from this era? I've got a lot of favorites, but one of the first one I got was 3/28/73 Springfield Mass, and it's always stayed with me. It was the first time I heard them go from WRS Prelude straight into Dark Star, which totally surprised me the first time I listened to it. I later found out that a few other times on that tour, but this one's probably still my favorite.

Ha! Yes, thats news to me! I saw that but posted the old "one-disc wonder" version with the phenomenal Dark Star> Eyes sequence that is all I have previously known of the show. I'll have a chance to hear the CM v. right now actually...

There was RFK 6-10-73 my first show, went to see the Allmans.

Then the Glen 7-27 and 7-28

Roosevelt 7-31 and 8-01

And Nassau 9-07 9-08 where at that time the shows were general admission with no seats on the floor!

Not to mention the Wall of Sound all summer long! Summer time has gone my oh my!

At one of the Roosevelt shows, Phil walks (during the Bands warm up set) to the sound board from the stage area. As Phil is walking through the crowd, everyone is holding up joints for Phil to partake of. And if I remember correctly he partook!

my 1st was Nassau Sept 73. My 1st concert, 13 yrs old. Pretty incredible impression. Just played with Steve Kimmock in NYC. I did Scarlet Begonias and Eyes Of the World, from Wake Of The Flood that had just come out when saw them in 73. So excited that Donna Jean was there that night to sing harmony, just like she did at Nassau in 73! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjkGENM ... ded#at=406

Wow...couldn't disagree more. For me, Donna ruined every single one of those early GSET's. Otherwise they were on fire.

Love those bouncy, funky chicken TLEO's though.

Bad ass is Henry Butler from NOrleans. Great night of music for sure. Speaking of bad ass keys, we just added John Ginty from Citizen Cope and Robert Randolf to my Dead On show at Best Buy Theater NYC 6/24.
