Hey all,
I play Bobs part in our Denver based tribute band and I just bought (yet to be delivered) a mint condition 1974 silverface Fender Super Reverb. It has been blackfaced and still has 3 orignal speakers. The 4th has been replaced with some unkown brand. I'm going to have Scooter Barnes, our amp tech, go over it, but was wondering if anyone had any experience with these amps you could share with me.

Sounds like you got a pretty perfect combo for doing early 70's-sounding Bob in a club setting- congrats!!

Blackfaced, I know that means restoring the power section to pre-1968 specs, but does that also include having the Master Volume removed from the circuit?

It usually does. Most of these I looked at did have the master removed. For what reason, I don't know. I am not sure about this one, but our amp tech is a real pro and he'll be going over this and also exlaining the specifics to me. I'll follwo this up after that.
