strumminsix wrote:Nope. Kinda annoyed with NAMM lately anyway. Seems I read up on all the updates, announcements, premieres, etc and the next day:
- get pissed that companies made no announcements (read Digidesign & 11Rack)
- search for a product and find that it doesn't even have a delivery date to stores (read Fender & tele acoustasonic)

It's probably their best chance to get in front of a lot of merchandisers at once. Though I understand the annoyance. I only went three times when I was managing the store - seeing Chet Atkins noodling on a guitar at the Gibson booth with only a few people standing around made them all more than worth it.
I have to agree with you there, what's the deal with inventing cool stuff and showing it off before they know if they are even going to produce it? It is not an inventor's expo but a trade expo. Gear that will never make it to production that year, or ever for that matter, shouldn't be there. There are other shows for gizmos that will never be produced. That is annoying, but still most everything else is for sale and a lot of it is super cool. I enjoyed reading about Jack's last visit.

Then the event occurs and you hear:
- nothing on the new lines
- what the updates will "probably do"
- that developers are "working" on a new version"
- upgrades will be available "soon"
- a bunch of new products that won't be on the shelves for 6-12 months
That just seems silly.
