I dont know exactly what it is but a semi educated guess yields one of the following 3 possibilities:

1) a straight up Modulus
2) custom job with a modulus neck.
3) one of Geoff Goulds later offerings (and also probably customized to an extent)

the one guarantee I can make is that neck is at least part graphite.

Maybe Laytonco (Gil) can help us out here?

I've seen him w/ a es-335 type, a g3, a casio 380, ibanez artist and perhaps a few others. What one are you talking about?
yup that is a pretty good list, you can add an Ibanez 2680 (Weir professional which Rob added a middle pickup to) and a circa late 80's/ early 90's modulus Blackknife to that list.

whatsup jeffm - ty for replying...i actually think it's an ibanez 2681 not 2680 - dont mean to correct you - but the difference is night and day

Robs Ibanez is a 1976 2681, modified. He also has a neck through Modulus Weir. Ive seen him with the Gibson I think its a 330s something not a 335 if I recall. The newer Modulus is the real deal custom made for him. I have never seen him with a Casio.

2680 vs. 2681: 2681 has the vine inlay and purfling about the body, otherwise, they are the same.

Rob definitely has a 2681. Just Google for pics and you'll see the vines. If he has the plain 2680, I've never seen it.

(9) 2681's! That's impressive! And I thought I was obsessive with vintage Ibanez guitars! I should tell the wife there's hope for me yet!

Please - let's see pics of the group!

btw...I'm almost 100% certain I've seen pics of Rob w/ a Casio...

tnx,
