The Road is going to be at Chief Ike's Mambo Room in Adams Morgan DC on the 27th with the Suburban Surfers (GREAT surf rock band - and also Tom our bass player's other project) opening. Music starts at 9; we'll be starting at 10 and playing till... well, until they throw us outta the place!

No cover.

If you've got a hankering, do stop by.

WORST

NIGHT

EVER!!!!

We promoted the hell out of a gig last night at a very funky local DC bar.

And my $2000+ carefully selected and matched Jerry Rig utterly fails to make a peep. It wasn't the f/x rack, cause I play through it regularly; something in the Twin or Power Amp section...

End up playing through an input to the PA via our keyboardist's amp, dry, sans f/x - sounds like absolute shit (when I can actually hear it through the monitors).

Set break, I decide to drive home (5 minute drive) to get my Blues JR.

AND THE FUCKING CAR BREAKS DOWN! BRAKES GO OUT AND I ALMOST DRIVE INTO MY FUCKING BACK DECK BEFORE I GRAB THE PARKING BRAKE!

Gig over for me; I'm just grateful my bandmates are as understanding as they are. I have never been so humiliated and pissed off in my life.

:drink: <- possibly the only solution.

Good news: the lads played a great second set and we're asked back next month!

Ahhhh...the old Gig From Hell. At least you didn't smash your deck....
drink some good IPAs, it'll be a better gig next time.

One time, we were supposed to play a very good friends wedding reception in the styx....long story short, a plant had some kind of serious chemical spill---highly toxic--(at dinner time of course) a half mile away. All our gear is set-up, ready to go for after dinner. Fire marshall comes in and evacuates the place (and a ten square mile radious). Had to go to the next town, wait 3 hours to be told no re-entry til at least the next day. The parties involved are still in court with the whole mess from 2 summers ago---TOTAL CHAPPER.

It even made the NY Times..
