Hey All,

I just spent my afternoon learning the beautiful song "Little Martha" by Duane Allman. What a fun song to play! It sounds harder then it actually is.


Can anyone recommend me to more songs of this similar style. Fingerpicked and happy sounding.

Assuming you learned the song in the original tuning of Open E, I would recommend other songs in that key. I like Comin' Back to Me by Jefferson Airplane (Jerry played guitar on it) and Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchell. It's not fingerpicked, but you can strum it with or without a pick and it's fun to play. Hope this helps!

I also love little martha.

Here's a fave of mine by the beatles. Norweigan Wood.

I play it in D although I believe it's in E and they
capo up. I'm not sure what the changes are over the main riff cause I just flat pick and strum.

d=down strum
u=up strum

For me it helps to barre the D position on the 2nd fret. So I barre the G, B and E strings on the 2nd fret and use my middle finger for the D note on the 3rd fret. I then play the whole line with my first and fourth fingers.


The other part (She asked me to stay...) is
Dm - G - Dm - G - A7 - D

I've seen some different chords for this last part but I prefer these.
