If you've seen the movie then you know what I am talking about.

Jerry Garcia provides the bare bones but hauntingly beautiful Love Scene guitar improvisation.

I have the soundtrack to that movie. I've always thought the outtakes on disc II, the alternate versions were much better. The finished version is an edit of various bits of those takes put together, and poorly put together if you ask me. Beautiful and stark guitar work but poorly edited.

Yes, buy the soundtrack double cd album. It's not too expensive and has alot of other good music on it. Disc two is full of nice Jerry noodling, you can see how by listening to those just how the Love Scene(main part on disc 1) was put together. Very poorly edited in my opinion. But it works really well when watching the movie.

Yeah that's a great CD It's interesting to hear Jerrys' love scene takes compared to Pink Floyds.

Yes, certainly. I really think the whole soundtrack is excellent, some real cool stuff on there. Lots of varity.

It seemed that the Floyd took a totaly different approach to Jerry. If you listen to some of their outtakes, it's incredable to think they didn't make the movie. They made some real interesting music, they were such a tight band.

I've often wondered what Jerry thought of Pink Floyd in general, no doubt he thought they were cool but I sense a influence in there. I can hear alot of Floyd type music on Garcia's first solo album. On the instrumental stuff like Eep Hour and the intro to the Wheel.

It's possible Dave Gilmour heard alot of Jerry too, they were quite similar in some ways. Gilmour also did some striking work on the pedal steel like Jerry.
