Hey folks,
I have a Schecter CS/H-1 semihollow guitar that i use for older shows (I'm rhythm) where I'm going for that 335 tone. I took the guitar to a really good luthier here in town and he is suggesting new pickups. The stocks are Duncan Designs and he is recommending Lace Arenas. Does anyone have an opinion of Lace Arenas or Lace pickups in general. They're $220 for the pair which is equivalent in price to the Gibson PAFs. He said they have 5 leads which will give us some versatility and tone options.

Lace Sensor? Have never used them, but I've seen a lot of anti- opinions over the years. These are humbuckers?

Which Seymour Duncan pickups are your Duncan Designs modeled after? DD just means they are built to Duncan spec by a different company, probably in Asia. I would sort of assume the JB/Jazz set... the Alnico II Pro is a nice medium output pup, or the PAF Pro.

Seems Schecter isn't making them anymore. Anyhow, I like the tone of this guitar but want to take it to the next level and the luthier thought the Lace Arenas would do the trick. But looks like i am going to keep searching....for the sound.

Lace sensor are an upgrade to most stock pickups. However, i didn't love them. But I don't love strats and that's what it was on.

ah, the '59 model, another very good choice. I just realized that in my above post, I segued into Dimarzio for the Alnico II and PAF Pro models
