I’m curious what humbuckers you’ve used along with the Super 2?

The build I’m working on right now will have three humbuckers. I’m going to use SD-2’s in two of the positions and am considering putting something else in either the neck or bridge. Obviously I want to open up the sound I’m getting out of it, but want to have something that will complement the middle Super 2 in the combination position.

What have you all used that you like? Even though it’s typically used in the bridge position, I’m leaning toward a Seymour Duncan JB in the neck.

I love the sound of the Dunc Jazz humbucker in the neck pos. One of Duncan's most popular humbucker sets consists of JB bridge and Jazz neck. But a JB might work well in combo with the Supers too. JB Jr. was my neck pickup (w/ middle Super 2) for several years until I recently replaced it with an SDS-1, which results in a nicely quackier 2 (4?) pos. sound.

Have you tried the Pearly Gates in the neck? With the SD2? I've heard good things about it too, but it sounds like it's most often a bridge pu.

No experience with SD2s. My main ax is a pair of PGs!
