This is a good one.
I'm at my buddys house jammin' yesterday. Things were good, we were playing pretty well and everyone was happy when all of a sudden my tone just drops out on me. So I inspect amp first and see there no problem there. I look down at my boogy-stick and my pickup has sunken into my guitar. It was rather odd, and it was fine earlier, I know this becuase I was playing slide and I base my high notes off of were I am over my pickups, so I had alrealy been looking at them.
I play a top of the line PRS I bought about a year ago, so this is not the kind of problem I expected to run into so early in the life of said guitar. So I take a good look at it and the screw holding the pickup in place has completley poped out of it's casing apparenlty unprovoked. So I resolve to take it into the shop the next day, as it was getting late. Knowing however that I need my guitar on friday because I'm in the studio with my band. I'm also expected in a different studio to do work for a solo artist on her album. So even though my guitar is still under warenty I can send it in to be properly looked at because I won't get it back for 6 to 8 weeks at least.
So I go home in a terribly glum mood. My brother had been at my house to do his laundry while I was out. Which is fine exept for the fact that when I left the house to jam, my 42 inch plasma monitor worked, and when I came home. It didn't. Something of which my brother claimed to know nothing about.
so my guitar and my plasma mysteriously no longer work (though the monitors really not much of a mystery)
I get up this mourning to find my coffee machine also didn't seem to function properly anymore, and it's one of those digital one's so you can't just force it to do your bidding. Now the coffee pot is nowhere need as valuable as the other broken items. but you can imagine how I felt having already woken up in a horrible mood, and finding I couldn't get my caffiene fix.
On the bright side. I brought my guitar to the shop I bought it from, and I've been buying all my stuff at their store for over a decade now. So they were fantastic about it, the owner said he'd drive it out to some guru's house tonight and he'll have it ready for me by noon on friday. So that's to terrible but it still doesn't explain why it happened.
As for the monitor, well even if I can get the truth out f my brother, I know he can't affored to have it fixed or replaced. So I guess I'll have to go buy a couple of good books.
