I would have gone with one or the other inlay, but they are done extremely well!

Are they cut by hand? do you do them? for sale? lol I'm just completing my "cripes/Jerry" custom and havent given any inlays any thought!

thanks!

Thanks for the nice complements. The work was all hand cut and hand inlaid by a gentleman by the name of Larry Robinson (www.robinsoninlays.com) in Northern California. Larry is famous for a couple of things. He did the hand inlay work on the 1,000,000th Martin guitar and also the 750,000th Martin. They had silver and gold and emeralds and diamonds. If you want to talk about way too much on one guitar, these are way over the top. He's even gone so far as to do C.F. Martin's portrait on the back of one of them. If you've seen a Martin D-45, this is like 200 times more inlay. The hardware was all installed by Doug Roomian (www.roomianinstruments.com), a fantastic luthier here in San Francisco. Doug has an absolutely fabulous line of his own guitars that any guitar player would love. Doug also reset the neck for perfect angle an did a fret mill and polishing to bring it totally up to spec. The guitar itself cost a little more than $1,000 to start off then the hardware was another $900 and install was another $700. The inlay work started at $1,500 and by the time he was finished it totalled a little over $3,000. I had to go to Guitar Center for something and didn't want to leave it in the car. When I opened the case, there were offers of $10,000 and $12,000 even before it was plugged in.

I've owned lots of guitars, but this one is truly my baby. Yes, she's played at least three times a week. Why would anyone create something like this and just leave it sit in a display case? Now that would be crazy. Once again, thanks for all the complements!
