When it doesn't fit anywhere else

Is it just me, or have many of my generation's musical icons not aged, um, gracefully? I just turned 42, btw.

I ask this because I just saw some recent photos of Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, and yikes! Honestly, the surviving boys from the Dead are holding up better than most, imho.

Is it just me, or do the British rockers tend to look a bit worse for wear than their Yank counterparts? The effects of not enough sun or, or too much blood pudding in the diet, or what?

Clapton and Mcartney are english guys that seem to be doing ok.

Ron Wood looks really bad!

Most of the English rockers you think of probably spend most of their time in America anyway.

Mick looks a bit ropey up close as well, good head of hair though!

Plant looks bad.
Saw him on tv promoting the new cd.
Should have died young.
Jeff Beck looks alright for 63.

Ya ever notice that Mick Jagger is looking more and more like Don Knotts?

I forget which comedian said that, but I loved it.

Bobby would look much better without the civil war Mustache and beard.

Roger Daltrey is also in great shape at 63. He's kept himself very fit.

Uh oh wisedyes....do you realize what you've just done??? Posted a topic without stating in the header what it is you're talking about!?!?! Are you CRAZY??? Man, you must be lookin' for trouble! If I were you I would run and hide from the tiger "the blog police" strat a.s.a.p.....he's bound to chide yo for your poor judgement in posting. Well, just lay low for a while and let it blow over, if you need food, water, or other rations, just ask & I'll funnel them to you via the underground internet railroad. Sorry....couldn't resist.... No hard feelings, TS!

As for the topic at hand...I agree that the Dead have aged better than most, but I think those left have maintained a fairly healthy lifestyle for a while now. Same goes for Clapton, McCartney, et al.

But I did see Jimmy Page recently on youtube and holy smokes! YIKES! Someone should've warned me before he came on! There should've been some sort of disclaimer for small children in the room or something....I mean....we can't have our kids seeing that shit!

Keep in mind everybody's different, too. Some folks just age better than others due to genes, but as for most of these rockers we're all talking about, I'm sure that a lot has to do with their lifestyle/partying/etc. Who knows, maybe Page & Plant just kept on going with whatever they may have been smoking/drinking/snorting/shooting or whatever it is they do.

I like Bob's look. Why not, he is an old hippie
I heard someone compare him to Rutherford B Hayes.....thought that was pretty funny.
