always wanted a gibson and well, honestly i think it would be awesome even though a decent musician can tune himself probably 1/2 as quick.

Me and my former band were playing out at a town party type deal once in a big town, and my rhythm guy just choked. It took him at least half an hour to fourty five minutes to tune up. No shit. He totally choked and we lost money cause of it. After that people thought we were a friggin joke.

And then of course by the time he got tuned up and I got done reaming into him (really tried my temper, that did) neither of us were in the mood to make good music. Talk about an uncomfortable ride home . . . :(

I really like that you can intonate it. I have a couple of tuners but none really good enough for intonation.

Well I found out that it lists for $2500 so guitar center generally takes about 30% off so I assume the most anyone would pay is $1750.

It is a limited edition so I now wonder if it is a good investment.

I was thinking of the limited edition warren haynes les paul too.

I am thinking about buying one just for investment and keeping it pristine in the case.

But I know me and I would want to play it and mess with it. Maybe I should buy two of them.

That's pretty cool. Sonny Landreth has been using something like this, maybe the prototype, for a couple of years to tune to the many different tunings he uses throughout his set lists. It will be great when we finally hear all those local bands out there playing in tune, won't it?

I am really considering buying 2 of these. One for investment only and leave it in the case to stay mint.

They other is for investment and to mess around with. It would be nice to easily change tunings.

From what I understand it is a les paul studio with an ebony fretboard. Not really the guitar I wanted as I have my eyes on a warren haynes les paul.

So 2 questions:

1) Do you guys think this will be a good investment"?

2) Anyone have or played a les paul studio that they can comment on?

Don't waste your money.

These are prototypes of a mechanical part.
They have no sonic or tonal values to add value, IMO.

My fear for you, Jackr, is that you'd buy these, they'd be okay, then next year they'll come out with one better and yours will be obsolete.

Or, conversely, if they stop production then they could be valuable.

Have you compared the price to the guitar value to see how much they are charging for the technology?
