Anybody else catch Neil Everett, Sportscenter anchor and deadhead (who has also made references to moe. on the air), start off the Georgia @ Tennessee college football game with, "Tennessee, Tennessee, ain't no place for Georgia to be." earlier tonight? Nicely done 8)

No,

But I heard one on the radio referring to Notre Dame v. UCLA.

It didn't seem to make much sense but the guy really stretched to fit a couple Truckin' references in. Something like "In CA the home of the GD it's only fitting that ND' Long Strange Trip would end at the Rose Bowl...."

It was kinda cool and creepy at the same time...just like LA!<G>

I've also heard him say "one man gathers what another man spills" referring to a rebound in a basketball game.... kinda caught me off guard... right on Neil

and of course whenever Walton does anything the references just bounce off the walls.

My favoritre reference happened a long time ago when jeff garcia was playing for the san fran 49ers...the game was at candlestick park and John Madden was calling the game...Jeff Garcia threw a touchdown pass and Madden quipped "Right now Jeff Garcia is the second most popular Garcia in san francisco!"Madden's co-hort Pat Summerall was clueless. Madden had a grin from ear to ear

That is a pretty random group of people to "hate". I don't know, I envy their job sure but don't hate them. How can you hate bill walton? I like to hear them from time to time. Scott van pelt has used a couple of them before as well. I think he somehow managed to use sage and spirit one time. That takes talent. Although I think it was during an interview with bill walton so someone else might have written those lines for him.

My friends and i are jocky/deadheads.. we would always throw the pigskin in the parking lot, anyway we always laugh at waltons coments. "When life looks like easy street there is danger at your door."

Neil just had another one tonight... During the Yankee/Cleveland highlight he threw in a "Wang Dang Doodle".

Go Mets... all night long!

Another one. He was talking about the greatest story ever told, and he said it was also a grateful Dead Song.
