Agreed, you won't get much of that kind of action on rukind, unless they also play guitar or maybe bass.

My advice is to attend shows by local bands that feature female singers and approach them about it at an opportune moment... especially bands that aren't terribly active where a singer might have time to "moonlight" ...also try open mic nights.

Or simply advertise in your local free weekly paper, many of them do musician ads for free.

but thanks for the responses , we have a pretty good network of friends here in Pgh...but wanted to cast a wider net

Craigslist has a musician section (upper left corner) and advertising there works pretty well (or at least it's worked for me)...just an idea...
