Wow. Just listened to the 12-31-72 "Playin'" last night and forgot how simply amazing this version is. Total acid jazz Keith is upfront in the mix and just doing an outstanding job. Lots of drippy sweet themes visited. Group mind music at it's zenith. Then listened to the "Dew" which was fantastic as well. Later I'm gonna tackle the "Truckin>Other One". Oh hell, first I'm gonna rip my skull off again with that "Playin" again! Thoughts/feelings?

My last 3 purchases have been DP11...Steppin Out...And 3 from the Vault...The early 70's are truly inspiring...On DP11 the Dark Star into Cumberland Blues is simply breathtaking...I forgot how friggin tight they were during this era...I pose this question...were they tighter with one drummer?

Great show.

And as always, I really appreciate not having to try to remember or look up which show(s) a "DP#" came from.

Interesting Crosby guest spot too.
