I was at Red Rocks last weekend for some Yonder Mountain and I snapped some pics of some pretty cool and old grateful dead shirts. Would you say these are lot shirts or officially released shirts? Anybody know about how old these might be?

Pretty cool site...wish I had more of the tour swag I collected over the years.One shirt I still have is a "Steal Your Face Mask" I got in the early 90s'.Its got Philly Eagles wings in the skull..Ah the good old days.....

The Samuel Smith/St. Stephen one is one of my favorite designs ever! I got one at the Deer Creek '98 Other Ones show lot, but I had seen them several years before on Dead tour.

Another favorite is the Calvin & Hobbes shirt that has a pic of the cartoon duo dancing, with a caption of "Heads all empty and they don't care!"

Then of course there is the all-time classic green Mountain Dew/Morning Dew shirt...

OH YEAH! ...This last one is long lost but I loved it so much. I traded for it at Foxboro '89... A red T-shirt with a picture of Felix the Cat, and underneath it said "Felix a Stranger"

I had some simple tie dyes - one thing I recall is that you could get some larger printed broad cloth type sheets that you could sew on shirts. I had a round, somewhat primative, skull and roses in about a ten inch circle I put on the back of a jean jacket and a large jester (on the wall with the lute, you see it on here) that took up the entire back of a work shirt. Another cool one was a skeleton pirate coming up on deck from a cabin on an old square rigger sailing ship.

Sense I still haven't been able to inspire people to post shirts to the site yet; I'll be down at the Phil Lesh show at Red Rocks on Saturday walking the lots, snapping pictures and spreading the word.

So, if anybody here is going to be there... where your best shirts and keep an eye out for me. If your not going to be on the rocks this weekend. Please add your shirts!

If I need any help identifying <a href="http://www.bandshirtarchive.com/band-sh ... ">grateful dead shirts</a> I'll post them here again.

Question, if I did some contests or a charity drive tied to shirt submissions on Band Shirt Archive would that inspire people to upload? I was thinking something like free cds, free itunes downloads or maybe even an iPod do it?

A few of my favorites I've had through the years.

Calvin & Hobbes gettin down (no not that way) to the caption 'everybody's dancin'.

Skeleton w/ steal your face & assorted Hockey equipment holding a stick enscribed 'minglewood'. For those not in the know thats a play on the stick company 'sherwood'.

Flinstones with Fred w/ a ticket and giving the peace sign w/ 'Grateful Fred' across the top, 'from bedrock to New York' on either side of fred in the middle and 'yabba dabba doobie' on the bottom. Still have that one.

Danncing bears doing the nasty in every position imaginable w/ 'Bare Facts' on the left upper chest. I think I'm wearing what's left of that one in one of my vids.

I used to have a great batique (sp) dye that I wore until it ripped up pretty good one time when I went to take it off.
