Yonder was sweet at Red Rocks. Can't wait to hear the recording. I thought fishman fit in really well. For the most part the drums seemed down in the mix, so they didn't over power the other instruments, but definately filled in spaces and added to some hard driving, funky, bluegrass jamming.

they broadcast a video live during the redrocks show, for FREE! the first set was nice. dave sounded great on maid of the canyon and fishman melded well during kymandolin and steep grades. the sound cut out during ten>riverside>ten which sucks as all my friends at the show said it rocked. then fish came out again and imho it didn't work very well. i don't know if he was using different beats than i would normally have in my head while dancing, but he was definitely throwing off the bands timing. this led to a butchered mother's only son. the encore was sidewalk stars>east nashville easter(fishman made it double time) which points to their future direction as a band. will this stuff keep me coming back? i don't know. to me it sounds like a less fun/tight version of leftover salmon. i am proud as hell of the band and the fans who pretty much singlehandedly have made the band what it is today. you sure could tell the guys were nervous and rightly so.

beyahh!!!

if you want to see how drums can work for yonder check out their new years show from this year. futureman's style seems to gel better with the bands approach. the girlfriend is better is insane
