hey yall, my friends have been telling me non stop about this republican candidate in the 2008 presidential election that i think everyone here should know about because his message is so important. essentially he is republican in the true form meaning small gov't, lower taxes, and so on, but he is also a libertarian and constitutionalist. his goal is simple minimize federal gov't maximize individual liberties and restore the constitution. something i find interesting is that right now the president has the power to search, arrest, and detain pretty much anyone he feels threatens his actions in the middle east. do we really want to trust these powers to the next president or we have the chance now to end the patriot act and elect someone who will restore those freedoms and govern us with no hidden agenda. honestly i am scared the direction this country is heading, all it takes is one more terrorist attack and more of our freedoms will be gone to "protect us". Paul will get us out of the middle east.
also thouht many of you would be interested to hear Ron Paul wants to end the war on drugs. he feels this like many issues should be state controlled not federal. example of the federal government getting to big.

The political positions of Ron Paul are in line with his stance as a Constitutionalist who professes a libertarian ideology. Accordingly, he opposes presidential autonomy and judicial activism and rejects a welfare state or nanny state role for the federal government.
