Hey, first day, on site. Still learning the ropes. Figured I would share my tone story. All started with me wanting an eastwood wolf. Checked forums people recommended a phred wolf.
After receiving i purchased an old l7 amp.... didn't quite have tone I wanted. So I purchased a milkman the amp, ran it threw 3 orange 1008
Practice cabs
Then found a jbl k120 in a peavey cab for 250$
While I was there looking he had a 74 twin reverb in corner of room. He said this stuff was his dad's. I plugged it in.. had it cranked but no headroom.. I said might need rebuild and he smiled and said power tube's were old and shows me all the old caps... he's audio rebuilder and rebuilt it.... I offered him 600$ canadian (also had altec 417 series 2 aluminum cones in it) aswell and purchased jbl k120 in the peavey.. next day I come across a jbl e120 16 in a case vented that I picked up for 120$ from pro audio guy. He didn't know I was gonna use it for guitar....
Sooo now i have like 4 amps...mad speakers
