specifically the intro (referring to the version on Rockin the Rhein). it has this beautiful intro and i was wondering what mode thats in, and most of the song. help would be much appreciated

don't know Rockin the Rhine, but they usually if not always play it in E major. Intro and entire song. When I play it i pretty much just rock the pentatonic scales. the typical intro (again, not sure if its different on Rockin the Rhine) is a pretty simple E major pentatonic run.

Solos are great in E mixolydian. The D chord doesn't fit in well with an E major scale but works nicely in mixo.
