I was in a record store today, looking through Grateful Dead cd's. One popped up that I had never seen before: "Well Matched: the Best of Jerry Garcia & Merl Saunders". I hadnt heard of a few of the tracks, and it was only 11 bucks. I bought it just out of curiosity.
To say the least, it is by far the best "best of" CD I own. It's right up there with Bob Dylans Greatest Hits I. If you've got the cash on you when you see it, I highly recommend purchasing it.
Did the Dead ever do "Welcome to the Basement" live? I doubt it, considering it's more of a Merl tune. but it's extremely groovy.
