HERESY! The video that should be banned on RUKind. The Dead sound pretty much like the Dead- even without the Irwin>SplitSuper2>brass nut>Twin>Mac>JBL>Dist+>Modulus>etc. etc.

So what's my excuse now???? Looks like back to the woodshed- hang me, oh hang me....

The famous “Oops!” shows in Amsterdam, Oct. 15 and 16...

Following the 10/13 show in Russelsheim, the band had originally been scheduled to play a pair of shows in the south of France, but they were rained out, so instead they flew to Amsterdam and played two nights at the Melkweg club (capacity around 500) using rented instruments! The second of the two shows fell on Bob's 34th birthday...

Thanks for sharing this. Man, if they only had decent gear... :-)

The other thing I find interesting about this video is how the small venue and presumably a much smaller sound system are very apparent in the sound. The borrowed non-standard gear is likely playing a big part in all this too. The overall audible vibe is like going to see a local band at the bar. Really cool to hear them play in the context.

Big Peavey fan here
I must have a half dozen laying around.
Tubes / s.state / combos/ heads
My all time fav was a Bandit
I think you can see one in the above vid
The gear question has been a thorny subject for awhile but one thing people miss is how Jerry and the boys were constantly trying new things and experimenting up to the end of the GD.
That being said I like my current ( Peavey-less ) rig a ton.
Well until I get the next bit o gear
:D
