I'm posting this link just because I haven't seen the photo before and it's interesting to see Jerry with what looks like an off-the-shelf Strat. He looks happy, too!

lovetoboogie wrote:nice shot from the Go to Heaven sessions at Club FrontHey thanks for identifying the location on this one. I was guessing that was the vintage from the keys next to Jerry (Brett's Moog) and from his appearance. I wonder where or if that guitar actually made it onto the album? Interesting to see that Peavey in the background. Didn't Bob use one at some point?
lovetoboogie wrote:looks like the same little combo...Ah! Those Peaveys are workhorses. I even thought that one in the Jerry pic might have been used for some of Brent's keys. They are rugged. I still have the solid state "Backstage" that I got as my first amp back in the early 80s and have used it for keys, vocals, and even bass!

The '56 Reissue is a relatively new (2012?) rebranding of the vintage series.Pre-production sample of the '57 reissue then? It looks to me like a brand new guitar with exact late 50's specs, I can't imagine the Veneta strat looked that perfect by 1980 even if Jerry still had it. The neck finish was already largely worn through in 1972!
Go to Heaven came out in 1980. Fender was not doing any type of reissue stuff at that time that I am aware of.
I am so curious about the Veneta Strat. It played some mighty shows (San Jose, BCT, Veneta, Boulder) in it's very short stagelife.
