I decided to put the original bridge back on the bass, now the strings line up with the poles.
Very good condition Candy Apple Red Medium Scale MIJ Jazz bass, passive nordstrand pickups give this bass a giant sound! I believe the pickups are standard nj4's, Abalone fretboard markers on Rosewood fingerboard. The control plate is black chrome, with one plugged hole between the volume knobs that looks stock, and a small hole behind the tone knob that accesses a trim pot (see pics). It also has been upgraded to Abalone fingerboard dots. Couple of dings on the headstock(pics) I have only owned this for a month. Bass weighs 8.4 lbs on a digital bathroom scale. Shipped in Fender gig bag. Very easy, comfortable bass to play, with the nice fender jazz tones I am also throwing in an unopened set of D'Addario Medium scale nickel wounds.

In the month or so that I have owned it, I never looked...just passing the info on as to what I was told. I will take a look and maybe a pic to see whats up..I always wondered about that myself Rusty.

Update: Looks like this control plate must have been used with an active system once?, because the small hole just leads to a regular pot....not a trim pot. This is 100% passive. Have to say it one of the more powerful and punchy passive Fender Jazz basses I have every played....probably the Nordys.

Yeah, that covered hole looks like it had to have been a mini-toggle at one point. So there's another pot inside the tiny hole near the tone knob? Or is it just an empty hole. And why am I so curious? Can't resist a bass mystery I guess.
