Waldo said he was ok with me sharing this with you guys so I thought I'd post it hear so it was easier to find. For those of you new to this topic, this is a rhythm track that he asked me to make for him so we could fire off his Jerry leads on it. Complicated signal path. Using an SMS Revelation Pre-Amp and Marshall Power Amp. Using a modded TS-9 in the intros/solo and a JHS Morning glory overdrive throughout.

You don't want to know. I'm sure I played it much different than Weir. I played in an alternate tuning and capoed. Think "Keef" and you'll get there.

Sweet, awesome rockin' tone! Open G tuning? It works well in that tune, then again, I'm a sucker for Keith Richards style, my other favorite rhythm. Well done!

Yes, whenever I play anything in B, my mind goes to "Exile on Main Street" ("Tumblin' Dice," "Happy," etc.) and I start thinking "Keef." Open G Tuning, Capo on 4th fret. I'm sure Weir didn't play it this way but I love Keith Richards so...

I know it's already been said but, very cool of you to do this.

That is awsome JDB. I too hear the Marshall(y) tone, and it fits well. Did you also do the bass & percussion?

The only problem I have with your work ...it makes me think I should take up crocheting & put down my guitars. It might be a better use of my time, and in 20 more years I might be able to participate in a knitting circle.

What really made me see your ability was that first rhythm track you posted. You're timing is metronomic, and the phrasing was spectacular. HIAB just doesn't need rhythm sense as much Lost Sailor. This is just opinion stuff from me, but that Lost Sailor was very freakin' professional to my ear.

Which leads me to ....knitting, crocheting ...maybe I'll try to grow roses.

Thanks for your kind words. My incredibly talented brother, Alan, did the drum programming and played bass & keyboards. He lives in Chicago (he's a professional musician and composer) and I live in LA so we did it remotely. Please don't give up playing. I've felt as you have many, many times in my life but have come to realize that playing music is completely a personal thing. If it gives you pleasure, that's all that matters, regardless of your ability. As guitarists, you have to be willing to put up with months or even years of feeling like you're on a plateau before you have a break-thru. Playing music, like life, is about learning. Of course, if crocheting, knitting or gardening give you pleasure, you should do those, too.

Awesome playing/job! I have done my own backing tracks and wouldn't have the patience or even think about attempting HIAB. That's a lot of work done very well.

Glad you like it. My part (the rhythm guitar) was easy compared to my brother, who did everything else. All credit to him.
