Hey Gang!
Thanks so much for all the feedback, and i'm sorry I posted here instead of the Garage Sale board, but the preamp is sold. Have a good one!

re: "Hot"

In other words are you the original owner..and/or do you have the sales receipt? Pro music equiptment is often stolen and resold and most musicians (especially the kind around here) do not want to participate in ill gotten gains.

It's kind of ridiculous to ask someone whether or not their piece of gear is stolen fer chrissakes ... come on. Do you really think the average thief is going to even know what an SMS is, what a JG mod is, and bother to create a post on a small niche community of Deadheads/Gearheads? Please.

Five seconds will tell you he's owned it since September of 2013 if you're that suspicious. And $500 for a mint preowned $795 preamp is a reasonable price, especially throwing in the rack and power conditioner.

I wasn't trying to suggest the listing was suspicious..just define "hot"; but he coulda meant something else entirely come to think of it. But aside from the JG mod, the age of Internet means anyone can find contemporary info with little effort, including thieves. I know folks who ripped the Martin logo off their cases bc thieves knew it was a sign of a quick $500-?

I see. I just saw the low post count, and I worried. With all the stolen gear nightmares I have heard of lately I may be becoming paranoid???

Also, living in a small, poverty, drug stricken city, I have been exposed to some crafty thieves!
