Ok. Lets say you have a 3 pickup Les Paul or SG.
You have 3 Super 2's you want to put in it, but you don't want to add mini switches or push pull pots. Or a buffer (the buffer is external) or obel.
Your intention is to at least wire it so the middle pickup is only firing on 1 coil, so you'd only wire that pickup with 2 of the 4 wires.
I know none of this is correct or optimal but...

To approximate other possible Jerry tones (above limitations notwithstanding) with respect to the bridge and neck pickups, would you;
a. Wire the bridge, neck or both pickups single coil?
b. Wire the bridge pickup as a full humbucker?
c. Have all working coils on the neck side (up)?
d. Change the value of the pots/caps?

Oh...and the 3 pickups are independent of each other. Three of the existing pots are to be seperate volume controls for each pickup. The 4th pot is a master tone pot for all pickups.

Please weigh in. I know this is somewhat crazy, but given the weirdness' and limitations, what would you do?

I'd consider removing the tone control for the neck pickup (rarely used in my experience, and put a 6x rotary switch like an SG3, and then I'd replace the upper pickup selector with a toggle for split coil on the middle pickup. I' not a fan of the three humbucker set up that Gibson traditionally used.

That would work pretty slick I'm thinkin'. The rotary knobs work great for this kind of application and you could even stealth it out by using a regular know instead of a chicken head. That would keep the control layout looking stock.

I'll be interested to hear what you do... and of course, pictures as well.
