I completed mods to my previously stock 2005 Ibanez AR 300 yesterday. Thanks to input from this board and Dimarzio I got it all wired up with three splittable Super 2's. The toggle, along with a single vol pot, tone pot, and min switch control the neck and bridge. The middle is controlled by its own vol/tone/switch. It is part Cowboy, part Tiger, and part new species. I can run any 1, 2, or 3 pickups at any time. I now think I'm addicted to making guitar mods...

Very cool! You might want to think about rounding off the corners of the plate for estetics!

I know I spelled it wrong, smart ass, (I forgot the h), but there is no way you can compare that mistake with what I pointed out.

I didn't trust my ability to get fancy so went with a basic rectangle (I figured if good enough for Tiger's blade-switch, it is good enough for my guitar), but we'll see what the future holds. Now that I've gotten my feet wet in guitar mods, I'm considering buying a neck and and building a custom body. As for the word in dispute, I prefer "aesthetic" myself.

I'm curious about how you mounted those switches. Did you drill three holes and then the plate is held in by the switch nuts or did you make a bigger hole? I'm thinking of doing this on my 2680 and am not quite sure the best rout to take.

I did drill 2 additional 1/4" holes to accommodate the switches. I also had to route out the control cavity (3/4" bit w/ 3/8" bushing) to accommodate the width of the 3 mini switches (tragedy narrowly averted when the bit came off the collet and almost burrowed through the front of the guitar -- be careful with that). The stock 1/2" 3-way toggle hole was too large to accommodate the center mini switch without a large washer or the plate. I tried 3 individual washers first but didn't like the look so I made the plate.

Thanks! This will probably be a summer project at this point.
