Me too. That's a good question though. Why could Bobby never remember the lyrics to Truckin' but he could always remember the lyrics to any Bob Dylan song.

the reason why bobby licks arent tabbed out as much is becasue theyre mostly chord based and alot of times (too many times) theyre just an add4. love bobbys stuff, but mostly suttle and you can figure them out in just a few strums, picks , whatever. Ive thought of doin a bunch of bobby lick tabs for this site before, but to tab out all that crap for one suttle little note seems silly.

???? That's funny, right? You're kidding I hope, yes?

Weir is a master of stacking the outside chord tones into seamless and graceful runs of diads. His grasp on chord inversions and how to apply them to any given set of changes is light years ahead of any of his rhythmic peers. That's just his theory...

Technique wise he finds those holes in the rhythm where no one else is and with an uncanny ear, he takes syncipation to another level.

I've yet to see someone tab out the bulk of Weir's work correctly.

Got to agree with that.
Bob's technique as well as his tones are tough tough tough for me to figure out. The way he can play with time is amazing. Off beat ,on beat ,around the beat ,drives the beat, etc. Big hands too. Big stretches too.I love the Dead movie bonus dvd where Bobs mastery is on full display.
He has one of the most original styles ever.
Dozin' probably thinks that because he has the Bob Star thing down really well. He lives the Bob life so it seems obvious to him.
Is their a two guitar band with better more original sound then the Dead ?

The words to Trucking are tongue twisters so no wonder Bob messes them up from time to time.

RE: Truckin' , can anyone point to more than 2-3 times that Weir couldn't remember the words? He seems to have gotten it right almost every time I've heard. Couple of stumbled-over syllables in "most-of-the-cats-that-you-meet-on-the-street" doesn't exactly count as not remembering
