Too bad he didn't get "the offer you can't refuse"... Someone got made that offer at Foxboro in '86 and they parlayed it in a multimillion dollar business.
You ever think maybe they (the GD family, not JG himself but maybe) just didn't appreciate the "Fat Man" thing very much? Not so thrilled with a vendor encouraging that to be his nickname? Wouldn't surprise me too much.

Similar thing that crossed my mind - Jerry obviously was fighting some depression demons and the last thing I bet he'd wanna see is folks calling him fat.

now I feel bad, because I used to get on the rail and yell "play something beautiful, pork chop!!!" followed by pelting him w/a handful of caramels or a Cadberry cream egg if it was spring tour. Am I responsible for Jerry's esteem issues? What have I done?!?!!?

Actually TS, that is EXACTLY the reason he was given for it. And it was specifically stated that Jer didnt even know about it but that the GD family would appreciate it if they disappeared. It was asked in a polite and kind manner, which was why my friend complied. He never meant it as hurtful. It was just one of those tour nicknames, like "Fatty" Steve Parrish.
Funny is after he dropped selling them, EVERYONE was looking for them, then the next tour he made one that said "The Fit Man Spits"

Also like the picture of Telluride. Was there just 3 weeks ago for the Blues & Brews Festival, 3 days, with Headliners of Thoroughgood on Friday, Tedeschi & Trucks on Saturday, and B.B. King on Sunday.
Without question, Telluride is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Go there if you ever get the chance.

Yeah, he gives out a lot of "looks to kill" like that, or at least he did back in the day. I saw the guy up close enough times to know that looks are all he should be giving, unless he has a lot of back-up, which he did at shows. In other words, if I ran into the guy on the street, and he gave me a look like that, I would just laugh.
