I am digging Warren's Brent sounding harmonies.. Definately brought a chill to me spine and brought me back to my late 80's days... I am psyched, going to Nassau, MSG and both Izod shows....

I saw the Grateful Dead in North Carolina. Thirty-one years ago yesterday.

I *just* got an email from my friend who saw the show with me so many years ago telling me he caught this show. Hadn't heard from him in some time. His review of the show was:

So it looks like the boys took the stage at around 8? My Spectrum tickets say 7:30, which would make sense - doors at 7:30, relax for a half hour, then start dancing! Reading on dead.net, David Lemiux talks about people stopping by the booth and saying hello. Is he talking about the soundboard? Or the booths where they're selling copies of the show?

Was listening to DP 16 today and remembering how much I liked the jam in Easy Wind. Wonder if they'll break that one out (I know Phil & Friends have done it)....

Just grinning and grinning over here as I listen to last night's show...

Just got back an hour ago. My short review is

they are indeed back and
THEY F"IN CRUSHED SKULLS


First set, sound/vocals were a bit light but it sounded great after it got dialed in.
They're playing as well or better as I've seen post-Jerry.
Jam>Shakedown was a big highlight as was Caution>D/S>Cosmic Charlie>New pototoe >H>S>F

I thought Warren was pretty good overall--I think he could do a bit more to lead segues at times. His tone was nice and I heard a few patented Jerry licks in there. For some reason, I could not hear much of Chimenti's keys--even on solos. I'm wanting to hear the show again and see what was up with that.

The lot was raging and I saw ZERO problems/arrests. Inside could not have been cooler. No security hassles whatsoever.

I'm ready for Buffalo next week!

BTW---my buddy got a ticket for 30 and sat with Pappy and I the whole show in nice seats.....so tix were pretty easy as expected.

BTW, as for Bob's vocals on Estimated---yes, he thinks that's cool.

Goog Lord. Finally giving it a listen and I leterally grabbed my chest and said "sweet Jesus" at 9:30 of He's Gone when Warren came in.

Thanks for the review mttourpro sounds like a great time was had by all glad to hear the sceene was mellow. Looking forward to hearing more reprots as the tour progresses

Guess I'm the only one here just not feeling it. Personally I think most of the time they sound way too tentative and not cohesive. Not to say they don't have their moments, but overall it's just not doin' it for me. Sorry, I mean no offense.

I'm "Just listening to Greensboro..." now for the first time (not sure I'm in the correct thread, but... ).
I went right to Estimated which is playing now.
Sounds like a case of Bobby forggeting the words and opting to wait instead doing the "non-languistic phonetic-improv lyretic-place-holder" thing that Jer used to do on alot of Berthas.
I wouldn't mind it if he spaced the lines out twice as long between each line, though. 'Sounds kinda kool.
Not sure if Bobby or Warren missed the intro. Warren played it off-the-album, while Bobby is known to do some much longer intro's.
Warren seems to be missing the Jer lick after "California..." etc.
I wish he would just play with a clean tone... It sounds like he has the perma-grit and some kina light perma-chorus, to me.

Just listened to Music Never Stopped... 'Sounded like they were both using Envelope Filter during the classic "Clumsy Stumble" intro jam.
What kind of Envelope pedal does Warren use?

no sales yet but valuable marketing was done. Firsr show of tour didn't expect many sales but passed out 3 hundred flyers so we will see
