i know it doesn't qualify as a flashback, but my buddy at a yonder show this summer had quite the experience. he's experienced in psychedelics from years and years ago(he's quite a bit older than me) so i figured he could handle himself. i had a spree with probably 3 or 4 doses on it and i broke him off a tiny tiny chunk. i had a great time. the show, the remoteness of the northwoods. everything was great. except he said he tripped harder than he ever had before. he was at a loss. can a small dose years after you quit 'cid cause a type of flashback experience???

In High School i dosed TONS of times. blotter, gellies, liquid. I did it in school, out of school etc...

I remember on days i didnt trip, only in the mornings for about a 10-15 minutes, id get all the melty wavy visuals and small-time trails that gradually wore off while brushing my teeth and such.

not sure if thats really what a flashback is considered but thats the closest ive ever had.
I stopped dropping acid when i was 20. I got puddled at Nelsons and had the scariest experience of my life. I literally drank a handful of liquid......
I was not the same person for at least six months :(

i will eat some shrooms tho, i know its not technically trippin. you get "high" on shrooms but some of the effects are close. but I'll NEVER eat acid again. id like too, but the after effects for me were too much that one time.

at least you guys got to try it, i've been looking for some acid up here in hicksville for a while now but i cant find anything. they just dont make em like bear anymore

Had a friend in high school.Big into Zep/Floyd.Senior year(86/87)took acid all the time.We partied hard.He started to act strange over the months.Real strange.He got real messed up.Serious mental health probs.Real sad.Never figured out if it was the acid or not.Never had a bad trip myself.Got scared a couple of times but no ice water bath.Seen alot of people get real messed up and its no fun for sure.I'm glad I did it but you can never go back.And I never thought dosing someone without them knowing was cool.

i completely agree. thats about as far away from the 'hippie' ethos as you can get. violating someone's personal 'space' i guess you could call it. unless of course that said someone is experienced and knows they're in an environment where it could easily happen, but still.

sure i had parents, they raised me VERY well. that being said, when i got turned on to the scene by "older heads" i just started disapearing at shows, gatherings etc.. for days at a time. they figured id get hungry and come home, which is exaclty what happened. I put them through hell, but today i have a wonderful relationship with my parents, theyre the most beautiful people in the world. they dont smoke or really party for that matter but theyre my best friends. theyve miracled me home several times, but i always paid them back. I worked at Wendys in high school. theyd fire me when i dissapeared, but they always called me back in when i showed up again

my folks never cared about the weed, as long as i got good grades, or didnt get busted. i didnt get the grades, but ive never been busted. beleive me the bad trip changed my life, best thing that ever happened to me really. after that i could see clearly where my priorities should have been.

Thank you for bringing that up. Not cool not funny not good. People outside the GD world and Head types seem to think that is what it is all about "with those greatfull deead heaads" So not true. It is one of those issues that I have a hard time with people who stereotype deadheads. I dont do it but I dont mind if you do. I dont smoke but my girlfriend does. She doesnt know how to clean the bong so I do it for her. Just because i dont use it, I still take care of my fellow head(s) I dont judge I have enough of my own problems.
That is what being part of the deadhead world was/is to me.

I used to Love Guinness Stout and well any good clean stout or Porter (like Yuengling porter) any lower hop beer.
Anywhozy, I got really sick with the flu for 2 weeks back in March or April.
Now when I drink A Guinness it is OK but It doesn't slide down like it used 2 Before I got sick I could have about 10-12 on a good night E-Z. Now if I get past 8 it isnt that easy and it takes longer.
I am thinking that a serious jolt to the system can change taste buds or desires.

here's my 2 cents on flashbacks: being in the medical field, i know that everything you put in your body eventually leaves. there's no lsd in your spinal fluid, it doesn't cause your brain to bleed etc. as for flashbacks: it's called post traumatic stress syndrome, and it can be caused by alot more than just lsd. when something affects you so strongly it's bound to bring back those feelings again sometimes. also, people who have mental problems should NOT take lsd, schizophrenics especially. hell, anyone not in the right mind set and environment shouldn't take it. i've done lsd about 300+ times, for what it's worth.

What do you mean flashback. Can you explain your experiance. What happened, How often do you get them, how long did it last etc?

I had a similar experience on July 4, 2003. Wow. One wild night I tell ya. I reached out with my cig in my hand to light it in the flame of a candle. As soon as the tip touched the flame I felt an intense shock as if the cigarrette were a piece of metal that had been jammed in an electric socket. I quit smoking cold turkey at that moment.

The reality of the situation is certain people just shouldn't do specific drugs. Everyone is different!

I have been there and back and have never had any negative reactions. That's not say that I haven't had to white knuckle it through a couple experiences, I just haven't had what is known as a flashback. It makes me wonder, if the flashback experience isn't something chemically that happens in your body that would have happened regardless of your previous drug related experiences.

When I was younger, I smoked more than my weight in weed. Now it really makes me uncomfortable almost to the point of an anxiety attack, something has changed! Maybe it is my body chemistry, maybe it is just that the bud is stronger and I can't deal.

The point is, because of this I have no desire to smoke.

Let me get this straight here, re: the subject line... you were smoking acid?

I have had slight visual recurrences in the days immediately following a trip, particularly if i smoked a lot of bud. Nothing I'd call a flashback tho, no mental tripping at all and the visuals pretty minimal.

Some of these strange experiences here are pretty remarkable. Especially the two stories of stopping smoking. I read that Andrew Weil once played with a cat when tripping and immediately lost his lifelong allergy to cats.

I once had a car door slammed on my hand while I was tripping. Door closed right around the knuckles, fingers inside rest of the hand outside. The door fully clicked into place, my attacker/friend reopened it by the handle about 5 seconds later. No pain the entire time, no injury. Just took the hand out and saw some indents but wiggled everything fine. This was all confirmed by the driverr of the car who was not tripping. Needless to say we were all baffled.

Yeah So I take some acid,right,start getting off good,and then someone offers me some coke.Not really a good combination when I look back on it.Might have been 18 or so.Things got real intense quick.Asked my girlfriend to help me chill out;went up to my room to listen to the Dead.Decided to try to "sleep" it off.Woman splits.Turned out the lights.The music got slower and slower until blamo-"sound" broke.Fricking crazy.Like the sound of breaking metal grinding to a halt.So I ride this out and after awhile I feel better and go downstairs to see if anyone was still up partying-and only an hour had gone by!Had a big bowl of Cheerios and felt great.I'm 39 now and cant believe some of the things we used to do.
