Interesting ... so that's just the guitar, all three pickups (set single coil) on simultaneously, and then straight into the amp? You totally knocked that early 80s Weir tone; that is my favorite.

My Walker is wired so I can get all three pickups single coil at the same time, need to give that a try here.

Exactly - it's just 3 simultaneous single coils. Very glassy & thin.

Sorry to keep bugging you with questions, but I'm supposed to jam with some guys down here in Austin and will have to play rhythm on a lot of the material ("everybody wants to be Jerry" is what they told me) ... I want to set up a good tone. You have the volumes on each pickup all the way up? The Walker has independent volumes and tones on each pickup with a master volume so I can balance things if I need to.

I can use a Roland JC amp block on the AxeFX and I have the IR of my K-110 JBLs which should sound good. But damn, no compression, no nothing? You have a great ear for it.

I'm assuming the guys in Austin have heard your "attempts" at Jerry. If they've got a guy that can do it better...I'd love to hear some recordings of him.

Yes, I have the volume on all pups on 10 - it yields the most glassy tone. I'm guessing your mileage may vary based on your pickups.

I would think that any 'clean' amp simulation would do the trick. On my JC77, and have the bass at 0 (!). On your amp simulator, you may want to EQ out lots of bass and roll off just enough highs to avoid the ice pick. I have my amp reverb at 1.

No effects in that recording - makes for a quick setup.

btw...whatever settings you use, save them for me. I'm eyeing an Axe-Fx.... maybe we can work out the ultimate Weir settings!

Just listening on my computer and at times it's hard to make out the rhythm part...but the first few strokes on Promised Land...and the Peggy-O especially...perfect Weir tone. Looks like a lot of fun for you guys.

I love it. MK that is awesome stuff, very thought out, for all the pondering you have an awesome tone/performance. Bill sounds great as usual! The whole band top notch!! No I ASSUME, Vic is to modest and nice of a guy to tear a band in two... but I have to agree, that guy has to be super good to out Jerry vic. If you are the new guy, you answer the add as they need players I guess....I love speculation!

Regarding audio & video quality, my goal is to raise the level (ie: Vic's postings). I'm impossible to get a balanced recording indoors with a Zoom.
