I have a friend who owns some land in Baja Mexico just a few hours from boarder. He has some interesting ideas about how to use it. One is to create and sustain a music-based community incorporating camping, festivals, concerts, etc. There is about 1100 acres and includes beachfront areas stretching back to the mountains. He is would like to give some prime real estate to a few BIG names in the Dead community in exchange for a concert or two.
Part of this is based on how Branson works, which is kinda like a refuge for musicians and artists to live and do what they love.
Another idea is creating a retirement-style community where kind folks could play/listen to music instead of play golf or shuffle board.
This post is just a request for ideas from you guys about how you would set up your ultimate Dead/ Jam Band community. I love the idea of having festivals of Jam Bands on the beach.
