Just got my first rack tuner a korg 2. I have a sms classic preamp that has only one input on the front and one output on the back. If I plug into the tuner first from guitar I would have to run a cable from tuner to the preamp on the front. I would prefer not to have any cable in the front except for my guitar in. Would it be alright to place the tuner between pre and power amp or after power amp?

Yes but everyone will tell you not to if you notice a difference you could always use a buffered loop
