Try FENDER FORUM.com You can zero in on qualities
on types of Years. Also, try and get a serial
number of the Neck Plate as a reference point.
Although, neck plates can be changed, you can get
an idea about where it's coming from. Then go to
fender forum and read some opinions.
I did see a black 95'Japan 57' reissue Strat
going for $800 yesterday after I saw your post.
It was in a lot better condition.

I just bought a Vintage reissue 62'
3-tone.New! and Lovin it. IT was expensive.
But I never owned a Strat. I figured if I was,
I'm getting it new. I think the 62' has a smaller
neck radius than the 57'. But the Fender forum will
tell you lots.
