any Tom Waits fans out there? i think he's one of the most talented artists in the last 30 years. He came to akron (right near me) but sold out in less than an hour. There are grate Waits clips @ youtube (obviously)

Tom Waits makes some quality music, been listening to a lot of it lately. He acts in a Jim Jarmush movie from the mid '80s called 'Down By Law'. Roberto Benini is in it as well, plays a rather funny character. But some of Waits' music is used in the movie which adds to it. Jarmush also did that movie 'Dead Man' I was talking about before, with the music by Neil Young and Johnny Depp in the lead, also worth a watch.

I love Tom Waits...from his older albums all the way up to his new stuff. The best thing about Waits is that he keeps fresh and he is changing very often, especially the way he sings.

Tom is the man!! I had the privilege of seeing him in concert and that is another experience since he's such a showman. His acting is excellent and I recommend watching the terrible film Dracula, with Keanu Reeves only to see his Renfield. He's also great in Short Cuts.

Tom Waits is fuckin awesome. I'm a huge fan. i'd have to agree with Ben, I love everything from thirty years ago up til now. He's also good in a movie called Domino w/ Kira Knightly and Mickey Rourke. He has a brief role as an evangilist. Fave albums?

Myself, in no particular order

Heart Attack and Vine
Closing Time
Rain Dogs
Heart of Saturday Night

Yes, love Tom Waits. Used to jam with a guy that knew several tunes and while he had a different voice he still did it justice; On the Nickel, Shiver me Timbers, Heart Attack and Vine and Downtown.
For Albums, Small Change and Blue Valentine, and of course Nighthawks at the Diner.
My favorite performance of his may be him doing someone else's song, Somewhere (from South Side Story) is absolutely beautiful. In a side note for the guy earlier who was drunk, the piano has been drinking, not me!

Any chance you could post Heartattack and Vine Tab? Been trying to learn that one for awhile with no luck! I LOVE On the Nickel, and finally have that one down.

You know me and my bud just 'modaled' it out, we weren't playing any exact transcription off the record. And I usually played countpoint and leads etc. We did get the lofi grunge guitar and drums feel pretty good.
Amyjared, I have seen you posting TAB on here and if you can get On the Nickel you can get Heart Attack and Vine. Hope that helps somewhat :-)
