When it doesn't fit anywhere else

Just bought a '67 Pro Reverb off of ebay. Made an offer and he accepted. While I thought the offer was realistic, I didn't think he'd bite...and he did. Of course I wanted the thing, but I had a couple other amps in mind first, namely a vibrolux reverb or a Super Reverb. This will be added to a '67 Vibro Champ, a hand wired Deluxe Reverb clone, a hand wired Twin Reverb clone, and a '65 Bandmaster. The first step to recovery is acceptance, right? Help, I'm on a blackface binge and I need help.

Awesome - wish I had one!! Hey, you got a good price - you can't go wrong with a blackface and you'll do well on it if you ever want to flip it. (Does that help?)

You just got a killer amp. That will give you fantastic tone and the mods are easy to do with the older versions versus a reissue. I am jealous and happy for you that you got a good deal on such a good amp.

I'm reminded of an old saying from my youth, (edited to fit the occasion); "A '67 Pro Reverb will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no pro-Reverb"

Bonus if you know who said this and what the original quote was!

Well, I don't know how much of a "deal" I got, but I got it. It looks pretty darn clean too. I have to say, at the moment I'm totally consumed by vintage fender blackfaces. I'm not sure if there is anything purtier(sic).

That quote sounds like a Twainism, but I don't know. Anybody else?

It is about weed and is from one of the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers. Perhaps Freewheelin' Franklin. It's been a while since I've read any of those old comics.

I think you should just enjoy the amp instead of looking for regrets

I just got an amp in the mail last Friday, played it for an hour straight after UPS clunked it down and still smiling about it.

Don't worry, be happy.

Bonus if you can say who originally said that

I know. And I will...once I get the thing and start playing through it. It's those initial moments after an impulse purchase of "what did I just do...?" 8)

Peaks Rhythem wins the prize! It was Fat Freddy, though, and the original quote is "Dope will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no dope". Could have been Freewheelin' Franklin, though, or even Phineas! Or even Fat Freddy's cat! Even MY memory is not that good! Long time since those comics circulated.

So, name a show you want on CD and I'll send it to you, free!
