Just starting to look around for a mike for the cab. Any suggestions? Or difference between the original 421 and the 421 ll? Thanks in advance for your help and feedback!
I've heard people say avoid the "II" model. If you want THAT sound we all know and love, stick to an original MD421. They're really amazing mic's for all kinds of things. Much of the classic '80s drum sounds we heard had these mic's on the toms and kick drums. Late '70s and early '80s vocals too. Definitely the Jerry JBL speaker mic of choice. Others work, but that's the benchmark.
