When it doesn't fit anywhere else

Today is a sad day, my hard drive on my PC just fried  losing around 800 complete shows along with countless photos from shows and my children :? Stupid me didn’t have an external b/u, I will in the future but still, my disappointment cannot be measured.

I obviously don't know what you have tried already but, I have rescued data off of dead drives before. Sometimes you can hook the drive up to a working machine and grab files.

I did try that as well as freinds who are "professionals" and the drive could not be bridged.

That is so horrible, I feel so bad for you. That is like my worst nightmare. This digital world today is like a dream: I dreamed I had 800 shows and then I woke up. All the best of luck in recovering all your music and more...

dpending on just how vital your data is there are data recover houses that can recover it for you, but it is going to cost you. Sometimes it is worth it if there is priceless stuff on there.

I have worked with these guys before:

this is a long shot, but it has worked for me on 2 hard drives.....

if you hear a clicking when it is trying to engage/read and that is what is causing the HD failure,
try throwing the drive in the freezer (in a zip lock bag) for about a day. then hook it up.
if that works, get your data off there quick.

it seriously does work some times.
