I agree. I wasn't casting aspersions, just relating what I'd recently read. I got the impression from the Beatles bio that they came to this conclusion from very little evidence, just a stroll thru Haight Asbury in Summer 1967, by which time the scene had changed.
Also, according to this bio, the Beatles were aware of Kesey and his bus when they did Magical Mystery Tour. I remember in Electric Kool Aid Acid Test that Wolfe says that Kesey and the Pranksters thought they had something to do with that. It seems they did.
In the 'what if' it would have been cool had the Beatles gotten together with the SF scene.
And I am not aware of the Wavy Gravy quotes. Could you enlighten me?
