These are hand painted, inked and labeled so if perfection is your thing they might not be for you. I always liked handmade tour shirts and these are more in line w/ that spirit. The silver box is what I call the Chrome Nun. Distortion+ circuit in a hand polished box. It sounds killer, like a good Distortion + should. 9volt power supply only. No battery. Will work w/ any common pedal board power supply(dc brick, one spot, pedalpowerII etc) Like I said, it sounds really good to these ears. 24 approval period, send it back if it isn't as advertised.

FYI: the Trouble Junction boxes are passive devices. They do not have buffers in them. They are for use w/ jerry type guitars w/ OBELs. Those guitars should have buffers in them. These boxes make it so you can plug a normal (conventionally) wired guitar into it and not have to re route patch cables to get to your fx. All you have to do is flick a switch and all your fx are in line as if you where running into them directly from your guitar.

There really needs to be a sticky defining these terms. This subject has been beaten to death here yet daily there still seems to be examples of confusion. By definition an OBEL can't occur in a box away from the guitar. It would no longer be "On Board". It would be a single loop looper, aka bypass box.
My Trouble Junction box, the HubBuB, Hard Truckers red junction and the others out there are passive boxes. The first two are meant to eliminate the need for y cables and allow conventionally wired guitars to be plugged into pedal boards w/o re routing patch cables. When plugging a normal guitar into them it's the same as having a conventional, serial, signal chain. guitar>pedals>amp.
A buffer is a simple active circuit that is jfet or ic based and is often encouraged when using long cable runs often associated w/ jerry rigs, pedal boards etc. You don't need a buffer to have an fx loop, on board or on the ground, but it is recommended. The buffer can be in the guitar, in an enclosure on the ground. THe point is to condition your signal early though.
Junction box, routing box= as simple as a three jack enclosure that send your guitar signal to fx and returns it to the guitar or elsewhere. three jack minimum but can be expanded from there
obel= fx loop on a guitar
looper, bypass box = pedal type fx loop
buffer= signal driving device that protects your signal from loss

I have a Hub Bub and a GCX Switcher. I notice that when I switch to using a std guitar as opposed to my Resurrection w/ OBEL(CB1 buffer), I get quote a bit of hum. I have remedied this by running my guitar input thru input 1 on the GCX which is a buffered input. I would not have this option if using a a floor pedal board. Any one else encounter this. Otherwise all is good and I love the setup! peace, Gregg
