Hauling my equipment in my friends car and he went over a speed bump a little to fast.. really fast.. and my twin when airborn and landed right on my 2x12 cab leaving a very nice size hole in the Stock fender speakers that I've really come to love the sound of.. (1973 twin and speakers) well I was in shock to see the tear/hole in it. I went home set it up and tried it out and it sound relatively good, the way it ripped it is it's about 2 and half inches from the center, is it called the dust cap? Well when I cranked the twin, which is what I'll be doing tonight I hear the vibrations. Is there anything I can put on it? glue or some kind of tape just to hold it together for 1 gig.. then I have a gig tomorrow.. Once my Vantage sells which is hopefully this week I'll be buying some Weber Michigans.

But any help? I'm in dire need!

I'd try clear strapping tape to keep the tears from spreading. It may keep the flutter of torn paper from making noise. Maybe gaffers tape. And of course, there's always duct tape.

I am sorry to hear that!! The bane of every guitar player, damaging our stuff in transport. I have opted to driving my own pick up truck, I live in Mississippi we all have them, I put my cabs in seat belts, like I put my kids. If I got pulled over I am sure the cop would think I am nuts.

There is a way a professional can repair the tear, with a coating or something, and in the end its playable again, but the cone will be doped, which I have a K-110 with a thin coating and it sounds great. If you really want to salvage the speaker with the original cone, you can have that done.

I have repaired small cone tears with a rolling paper and nail polish, and gotten through the gig...........seriously

A tear in the side? I've seen it fixed with newspaper + Elmers glue

Not saying it was ideal, but actually sounded just fine and the dude never did get a new speaker...
