I plug in my TRRI, I play a chord, it is all muffled, volume fading in and out, and distorted. It's happened a few times to me in different places. It'll do it and then after 30-40 mins of playing through, it manages to go away. WTF?!

I see your problem. TRRI


Just kidding. It's hard to know actually. I'd check and clean all tube sockets, all input jacks, speaker connections, and all pots first.

Still having the problem? Bummer. I am headed to the music store to pick mine up to see if it is functional again - I think Danny, my bandmate and tube amp guru said that there were a couple of sketchy solder spots so he went through and touched them all up and cleaned up the sockets and said it is working fine. It was a similar problem to the one you are having - I'll let you know if that did the trick.

dleonard - the clean up did the trick I beat the shit out of for an hour and no problems, no noise. I hope your issue is this simple.
